What
is America to Me?
Patriots
know America is "Columbia, Gem of The Ocean,"
a gem in beauty; a gem of citizens, who pledge allegiance
one nation indivisible; an interfaith nation, giving
value and honor to the law that protects our differences.
If in ignorance we fail one another, a true Patriot
faces this failure with courage and good faith to
correct the wrongs done. As painful as failure can
be, a true patriot is committed trying again, striving
for integrity.
A Patriot knows that America is a country of blessings,
that the miracles come from a heart of generosity
and courage. When Americans are shaken to the core
of their endurance, when their simple love of the
USA is humbled by corruption, terror or war, when
it is uncomfortable to be a patriot, still we rise
upholding basic principles of democracy to right every
wrong, to sacrifice not just for ourselves, but for
others, who do not even know us.
Patriots
are the beautiful people, who work to provide more
freedom for more people, more often than any nation
on earth in the entire history of the world. I lift
my heart in gratitude to this beacon of light.
